Love has no language

It has happened in the UK, it has happened in the USA, now it’s New Zealand’s turn to make a Bollywood movie.

Love Has No Language, starring famous Kiwi heart-throbe Ben Mitchell and Indian model turned actress Celina Jaitley, is due to hit cinemas next year.

The romantic comedy is about an Indian girl, born and brought up in New Zealand, who then falls in love with a Maori boy.

The story appears to have conflict, romance, comedy and drama and has had some good previews so far, but  how well will it do in New Zealand, India and other countries?

A lot of Kiwis seem to have high expectations of the feature film. But will it achieve this?

Go TK, Go…

The movie does have a glamorous star cast, but how well will the stars do is the question. Ben Mitchell, famous for his role in Shortland Street as TK Samuels has won the audience’s hearts for his good looks. But how good will he be in the movie?

The formerpersonal trainer for the Auckland Blues and North Harbour rugby team members has recently begun his career in acting.

Not that he isn’t good at it, but not everybody watches Shortland Street. Apart form this he has had a few guest appearances in other TV programmes and short films like Outrageous Fortune, Stolen Chilhood and Korero Mai; but in my opinion does not yet have enough achievements to be recognised internationally.

Who is Celina Jaitley?

How many people in the world know about “famous” Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley? And how many people in India know her either? Yes she was Miss India-Universe (2001) and has been voted one of the sexiest girls on the internet, but what does thathave to do with her acting skills?

She has done more movies than co-star Ben Mitchell, but how many of those have the “Wow”-factor or even the “That wasn’t a bad movie”-factor? Her movies like Khel, Jaanasheen and Jawani Deewani didn’t exactly set the silver screen alight.

Though well-known amongst the internet community for her amazing good-looks, my research shows that she has not yet won the hearts of movie fans in India or overseas.

Will it Bend it Like Beckham?

Besdies all this, Love Has No Language could be a good chance for these two struggling actors to become the next international celebrities.

However, in my opinion, they have a lot to work on. But with some good directing from Ken Khan (director
of Love Has No Language), this may be possible.

Film: Love Has No Language
Length: 120 Mins (Approx)
Producer: Pan Pacific Pictures / Media Network Corporation
Director: Ken Khan
