The girls are back in town

It’s official!
After years of speculation and rumors, the original members of The Spice Girls are in fact reuniting.
One of Britain’s biggest ever global success stories has reunited for the first time since they split nine years ago, and announced a worldwide tour that will get underway this December.
The girls staged a massive press conference at London’s O2 arena to announce the 11 date tours, spanning six continents, from Europe to North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australia to over four hundred of the world’s media.
The Spice Girls, who haven’t appeared together since Geri Halliwell left the group in 1998, appeared to have stripped away the old raunchy girl power pose of the 1990s, for a much more mature and womanly look for the cameras.
Though their looks may have matured and changed, fans can be rest assured not all of their music has too. Fans will be treated to their old classics with a mix of brand new songs, some of which have been written by U2’s Bono. This new material will be placed under the banner of The Return of the Spice Girls.
Alongside this, EMI Music UK are also planning to release the first-ever Spice Girls’ Greatest Hits album in November worldwide.
With their debut single Wannabe in 1994 becoming the biggest-selling single with total global sales of over 55 million records, it will be very interesting to see how much the sound, vibrancy and abilities of these five women has changed - if at all.
Also with the adoption of melodic constructions formulated by Bono I am intrigued to find out if The Spice Girls truly can put the spice back in our lives.
