Experience a weekend of dazzling Indian culture at Diwali Festival of Lights held at Britomart on the 27th and 28th of October.

With 36 hours of entertainment on offer, come see, smell and taste all the wonders of Indian culture.

Don’t deny the chance to see amazing performances as the weekend is packed with singers and dancers from here and abroad. You may even meet one of Bollywood’s royalty as a special appearance by box office star Riya Sen will send hearts racing.

Featuring on Saturday night is The Radio Tarana Bollywood Dance Competition which nearly sold out in its Wellington performance.

A market bazaar will offer endless stalls with Indian cuisine sending a spicy scent into the streets. The arts, crafts and colourful fashion will cater to any shopper’s whim.

For those who are really keen, there’s also a chance to get in amongst it as people are encouraged to enter into dance classes or take an arts and crafts workshop.

As one of the most important celebrations in the Indian culture, Diwali is traditionally a time when families light small oil lamps and welcome a time of light and prosperity.

The festival starts at 11am on the Saturday.
