Coffin-carrying Waiheke Island commuters wore black and waved placards protesting against a hike in ferry fares on Monday.
Fullers ferry tickets to the island have gone up by an average of 12.7 per cent.  A monthly pass allowing unlimited trips has risen by $44 to $344.  The protest was staged to coincide with the price increase.
